This program consists of pre-presentation information, a 45 minute, interactive, life-size puppet play and follow up activities.
Featuring classmates Eddy Franklin, Clare Sanchez and Melody James.
You're Not the Boss of Me!
Eddy is being bullied by someone at school and doesn't know what to do about it. When his friend, Clare, insists to talk about the problem, Eddy lashes out in frustration. Clare manages to get through to Eddy and Eddy learns that being bullied is not something to be ashamed of- and that bullies is a not a problem that must be dealt with by the target alone- there are places to go for help.
Safe at School
Clare goes over to Melody's house to help her friend with a project. Melody and Eddy have created a school committee for a safety plan at their school.
Rescue or Report
Melody's friend Brenda was teased by some girls on her way home from school. Melody feels bad for not being there to help her friend. Eddy and Mel show different ways of safely intervening in a bully situation.
Post Presentation Information
There are a number of follow up activities that are included in the package.
After students have participated in the puppet performance there are a number of activities that can be done with the young people to stimulate discussion on the topic of Bullies and School Safety.
